STOP THE INSANITY

I read with disgust the suggestion that Medicare should help pay for obese Australians to go to weight-loss classes on the understanding that the national health system would recognize obesity as a chronic disease, allowing 'treatment' to be covered by Medicare।

Treatment? What treatment? Eating less is hardly a no-brainer।

Obesity should carry a penalty. Just like any other psychosocial behaviour does, as in rape, sexual assault, theft, burglary, drink driving, peddling drugs, pedophelia, road rage, urinating in public, throwing bricks through your neighbours glass windows, etc

We should recognize that obese people have total disregard for themselves and the rest of us in the community।

They happily stuff copious amounts of food into their mouths with little or no regard for anyone or anything.

Why should the healthy minority pay for the gluttonous majority? Already the cost the community swells into the billions of dollars and we are pussy-footing around trying not to hurt the feelings of those who are grossly overweight or abhorantly fat।

Let's stop this insanity! Medicare should only be available for those who take fair and reasonable steps to look after themselves। Why should it be any other way?

Obesity is not a disease, it's a disgrace। Casually observe anyone who is overweight or obese. They gulp down or swallow excessive amounts of food, drink, or intoxicants to the point of waste.

And don't assume that I know anything about the subject. There are gluttonous people in my immediate family all of whom are gorging themselves to death with little or no regard for themselves, their family - or their future.
